Strategic Goals
- Goal 1: Build National Clinical and Translational Research Capability
- Goal 2: Provide Training and Improving the Career Development of Clinical and Translational Scientists
- Goal 3: Enhance Consortium-Wide Collaborations
- Goal 4: Improve the Health of our Communities and the Nation
- Goal 5: Advance T1 Translational Research*
These goals were developed at the October 2008 planning meeting. Click here for a detailed report. *Please note the T1 Translational Research goal was adopted April 21, 2009.
To coordinate progress toward these goals, the consortium established five CTSA Strategic Goal Committees comprised of principal investigators at CTSA institutions and others including leaders at NIH. They identify and prioritize consortium-wide efforts so that the objectives and milestones of each strategic goal committee are achieved. Working closely with the Strategic Goal Committee are Key Function Committees, which focus on research areas critical to the CTSA mission and enable an exchange of information across the consortium.
The Strategic Goals prioritize projects that are developed and implemented through the Key Functions. This graphic illustrates the relationship between strategic goal topics and those key functions with which they align directly. Additional cross-cutting Key Functions contribute across multiple Strategic Goals, providing expertise as needed.
